Growing up I played the usual assortment of board games. I played Sorry, Monopoly, and the like. My Aunt that lives in Minnesota would send us very interesting games every Christmas. She sent Crack the Case, Clue the Museum Caper, Scrutineyes and such. I loved playing those games, better than Monopoly.
In High school I became immersed into Axis & Allies. I would play every Sunday evening at a friend’s house during that time, although we would never finish a game most of the time, it was fun nonetheless. Then during the Christmas break my two best friends and I would setup the game and play till we finished out. I haven’t played as much since but that game holds fond memories for me.
Fast forward till 2003, a co-worker of mine introduced me to Settlers of Catan. What? A game that doesn’t take hours to play? I played this exclusively till about the end of 2005 when some other friends introduced me to Ticket to Ride, and the passion was born.In 2006 I started buying games at a local flgs and a warehouse locally that sold board games. I came by the warehouse so much that they started to refer to me as the boradgame guy and it stuck. Also, in late 2006 I joined this interesting little website called Boardgamegeek.com....and I've vistited it daily every since.
Soon after that I created an online business selling board games and doing custom board game parties locally. I found this a good way to introduce others to the fun filled world of board gaming and also a great way to crusade for the hobby. I really enjoy seeing the excitement on new player’s faces, and have had a lot of great experiences teaching these games to countless people.
So now years later I’m still playing board games almost daily, selling board games to gamers locally and across the country and throughout the world and still enjoying every minute of it.
